Casino wagering requirements explained

A casino welcome headline describes the reward; the conditions describe what you must do to use it. Start with the qualifying spend, then examine any wagering attached to the bonus or its winnings.

Deposit, qualifying stake and bonus wagering

A deposit adds money to an account. A qualifying stake risks that money on eligible games to unlock a reward. Bonus wagering is a separate requirement to play through a specified amount after the reward is credited. “No wagering on winnings” can still accompany a qualifying cash stake that you may lose.

A worked example

If a hypothetical £10 bonus has a five-times wagering condition on the bonus alone, the playthrough amount is £50. If the terms instead apply five times to a £10 deposit plus £10 bonus, the arithmetic is £100. These are illustrations, not listed offers. The amount staked can be recycled winnings and is not a prediction of the amount you will lose or need to deposit.

Game contribution and maximum stakes

Check the named eligible games, excluded stakes, contribution percentages, maximum stake and reward expiry in the specific promotion. A slot stake and a live table stake do not automatically count in the same way. Starting the wrong game may leave you short of a qualifying condition.

Withdrawal and expiry

Bonus balances, free spins and free bets are different from cash. Withdrawing may cancel an unused bonus in some offers. Check how cash and bonus balances are spent and whether winnings have their own restrictions. There may be one deadline for qualifying and another for using the reward.

The Gambling Commission explains the promotion rules introduced on 19 January 2026, including a ten-times bonus wagering limit. This does not remove individual offer conditions. Read the Commission’s explanation.
